“I note that in 2008, then-Senator Obama supported a health care reform proposal that did not include an individual mandate because he was at that time strongly opposed to the idea, stating that ‘if a mandate was the solution, we can try that to solve homelessness by mandating everybody to buy a house,’” Judge Vinson wrote in a footnote toward the end of the 78-page ruling Monday.

All eyes are on Florida, as a federal judge in Pensacola could become the second to declare President Barack Obama’s health care reform law unconstitutional.

Judge Roger Vinson is expected to rule Monday on a lawsuit brought on by 26 states, including Florida.

Maybe we should ban lies by politicians, but then they would have nothing to say. hmmm, that would be good.

Gallup Poll: GOP Approval Rating Highest Since 2005, Democrats Worst Since 1992

Look what the tea party effect has done, it’s is taking hold nationwide, and the Republican(GOP) brand is the biggest beneficiary. But the tea party is not so sure about the Republicans, and what they say they are going to do. Ronald Reagan’s “trust but verify” is operative until further notice — LOL.

The small margin is proof of the GOP being on probational status, as far as the voters are concerned. Looks like the GOP is facing their WHIG moment, time is short, do what the American people want or else.

Stop the stupid out of control federal spending.

For the first time since 2005, more people like Republicans than dislike them, according to Gallup’s latest poll. The margin is small: 47 percent of Americans have a favorable view of the GOP, and 43 percent have an unfavorable opinion, according to the poll, which has a 4 percent margin of error.Still, that’s better than Democrats are faring. Gallup reports that President Obama’s party is liked by just 46 percent of respondents, and is disliked by 47 percent, “among the worst for Democrats since 1992, but is an improvement from last year.”

“The two parties’ ratings are now generally similar, suggesting they are starting off on relatively equal footing as a Democratic president and Senate, and a Republican House of Representatives attempt to govern the nation over the next two years,” wrote Gallup’s Jeffrey M. Jones.

Rubio Signs On

Today, Rubio announced that the first bill he’ll co-sponsor as a senator, is DeMint’s Obamacare repeal bill which is identical to the one recently passed the U.S. House of Representatives. Rubio is one of 34 Republicans co-sponsoring the bill. Rubio has campaigned throughout the past year and in many tea party events that he is not only committed to reducing the deficit and stopping the growth of big government, but that he’ll push for the repeal of Obamacare. He is fulfilling that promise.

In a statement, Rubio said:

“It is critical for the future prosperity and health of our country that we repeal ObamaCare and replace it with common sense reforms that will lower health care costs and get more Americans insured. At a time when we need to be focused on creating a pro-jobs environment in Florida and across the country, ObamaCare has only served to foster uncertainty for job creators. We need to start over with reforms that promote competition, empower patients with more options, combat fraud and integrate the latest technologies for a system that better serves the patient.

It is imperative that the Senate Democrat leadership in Washington heed the call of families and job creators across Florida and allow for an up-or-down vote on this legislation.”

Don’t judge a politician solely on his words, but on his actions as well. Rubio is off to a good start.

Now this — 10 states invoke 1700s ‘nullification doctrine’… In our Constitutional system, the States are sovereign, they created the Federal Government not the other way around. Repeal the 17th Amendment, give the States back their representative. Who needs the “Schumer seat”, it should be New York’s seat.

Pierce was a “doughface” (a Northerner with Southern sympathies) who served in the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate.

And then the day after:

New (CBO) budget estimates released Wednesday predict the government’s deficit will hit almost $1.5 trillion this year, a new record.

The daunting numbers mean that the government will have to borrow 40 cents for every dollar it spends.

This is insanity in real life.

Without A Microphone, You Can Still Be Heard

Elizabeth’s debut singing the national anthem on January 7, 2011 at the Norfolk Admirals game. The good news is that she did a wonderful job. The bad news is that the mic died after “gave proof.” However, the crowd picked up the song and she kept her composure and stood there singing. But nobody got to hear her amazing high note on “free.” But more good news–she was invited to come sing again, so I hope to post the complete version for you to enjoy soon…

Environmental pressure groups could be guaranteed that their press releases, usually beginning with the words ‘scientists say . . . ’ would get on air unchallenged.

The totally whacked out, EPA has now approved E-15, so we can get those ethanol producers to burn even more fuel, in a futile attempt to lower gas mileage to zero. dumb meet dumb-ass.

Obama’s dumb-asses plow on with destroying the people’s cars.

The Environmental Protection Agency has approved the use of a 15% ethanol-85% gasoline blend (“E15″) in cars made from 2001 onwards. Automakers and other parties have protested that these vehicles are not designed for E15 and may be damaged; and that owners of older vehicles may accidentally use E15, since the gas nozzles are identical. The decision was made based on Energy Department testing, and was spurred by Congress’ demand that ethanol usage be increased across the nation.

The use of E15 in 2000 and earlier cars, along with small engines (e.g. snowmobiles and lawnmowers), remains banned.

The auto industry, including both domestic and foreign manufacturers, has lobbied against the rules, claiming that the stronger blend can cause breakdowns, emissions issues, and possibly safety problems. Major automakers, boat makers, and lawnmower manufacturers filed a lawsuit last month to block the plan. The plan was also opposed by energy, farm, and food trade groups, who warned that using increasing amounts of corn to feed cars rather than cows would raise food prices.

CBS Poll: 77% Prefer Spending Cuts to Reduce Deficit, Only 9% Call For Higher Taxes…

A new CBS News poll finds that Americans strongly prefer cutting spending to raising taxes to reduce the federal deficit. While 77 percent prefer to cut spending, just nine percent call for raising taxes. Another nine percent want to do both.

Lets just whack 10% off the top until the budget balances or we put the federal government out of business –  throw out all the useless regulations and economy crippling bureaucrats we can.
