With all the excitement surrounding the Kindle Fire HD, few took note of the fact that every time a user unlocks its screen, they have to look at an advertisement for a special offer. Well, Amazon realized quickly that this may irk some otherwise happy customers, so the company will be providing a way to make the ads vanish.
Here’s the statement NBC News received from Amazon on Saturday evening:
With Kindle Fire HD there will be a special offers opt-out option for $15. We know from our Kindle reader line that customers love our special offers and very few people choose to opt out. We’re happy to offer customers the choice.
Really who wants ads, to interrupt what you are doing, better still does anyone actually read the ads.As and Amazon shopper, I have a special place for ads….
SO sanity hits Amazon. I wish it would be shared with the bloat-ware makers of PCs.
