US May Soon Become World’s Top Oil Producer

Private lands not federal lands… Mostly N.D.

U.S. oil output is surging so fast that the United States could soon overtake Saudi Arabia as the world’s biggest producer.

Driven by high prices and new drilling methods(fracking, horizontal drilling), U.S. production of crude and other liquid hydrocarbons is on track to rise 7 percent this year to an average of 10.9 million barrels per day. This will be the fourth straight year of crude increases and the biggest single-year gain since 1951.

The boom has surprised even the experts.

“Five years ago, if I or anyone had predicted today’s production growth, people would have thought we were crazy,” says Jim Burkhard, head of oil markets research at IHS CERA, an energy consulting firm.

Did you know you can convert coal to transport fuels, A U.T. Study showed it could be done for about $30 a barrel oil equivalent. They actually built a pilot refinery to prove the process scaled up. The USA has about 35% of the world’s coal supply. It’s called the Fischer–Tropsch(or one of the many derivatives) process and was used by the NAZIs in WWII. Natural gas can likewise be converted to liquid transport fuels. Again the liberals have lied to the American people. Mitt Romney knows exactly what he is talking about…

And then there is our vast oil sands reserves…
