Not Sequestered: Obama Takes 22-Car Motorcade Six Blocks To Dinner

While at the same time the White House is closing their White House tour group, because of the sequester. I haven’t heard of any other nonsense, except the outright lies, yet.

Here is the 22 car parade to get Obama to the dinner that Gramesty had arranged.

President Obama’s decision to shut down White House tours as a way to manufacture angst about sequester spending reductions, ABC News’ Jonathan Karl notes that Obama was conveyed last night to a dinner with Senate Republicans by a 22-car motorcade.

Total distance traveled? Six blocks. Because, in this time of sequesterpocalypse, the President couldn’t have just had the Senators over to the White House.

Meanwhile, via Jim Geraghty, we find out that the cost of shutting down the White House tours is about $936,000 per year. Or less than the cost of one state dinner.

But let’s not allow facts to get in the way of good political theater, shall we?

Sounds to me like he is scared and wants all the protection he can get.
He had “Canada” manufacture several NEW Limo(s) for him plus adding armor to all of the cars. Seems he was afraid of an attack. Welll, maybe he should be afraid.
