The filmmakers behind 2016: Obama’s America are claiming a coordinated attack engineered by supporters of Barack Obama to suppress the box-office results of the movie, which is a critical look at the president.

The film, the second-highest-grossing political documentary in U.S. box-office history, has made $32 million domestically since opening in mid July but took in only $938,000 during the recent weekend for a per-screen average of $771, down 27 percent from $1,060 per screen in the previous weekend, according to BoxOfficeMojo. Overall, the movie’s boxoffice dropped 53 percent in the most recent weekend compared with the previous one, its largest decline since opening 10 weeks ago.

While such a drop isn’t unusual for a movie during the course of a week — especially when the theater count dropped from 1,876 to 1,216 — filmmakers nevertheless say box-office results were artificially depressed for two reasons: a disinformation campaign spreading the false rumor that Fox News Channel would be showing the movie in its entirety Sunday and a pirated version of the film showing up on YouTube this weekend.

“Saturday morning, I started getting e-mails from groups and individuals either warning me about the piracy of 2016: Obama’s America or thanking me for allowing the movie to go online,” said Randy Slaughter, president of Rocky Mountain Pictures, the film’s distributor.

Filmmakers said they notified the FBI that the movie was available illegally and that they notified YouTube of a copyright breach, prompting the user to take down the film.

Finally Got Under His Skin: Filmmakers call it “the movie the White House doesn’t want you to see.” Apparently, they’re right.

Perhaps the president was hoping 2016: Obama’s America would come and go unnoticed like so many other political documentaries. But seven weeks after its opening, the film is still going strong, prompting Barack Obama to finally respond, which he has done through a lengthy entry at his campaign’s website that calls the movie “a deliberate distortion” of his “record and world view.”

But I drove 30 miles to see the movie “2016,” based on Dinesh D’Souza’s best-selling book, “The Roots of Obama’s Rage.” Where I live is so politically correct that such a movie would not even be mentioned, much less shown.Every seat in the theater was filled, even though there had been an earlier showing that day, and more showings were scheduled for the rest of the afternoon and evening. Yeah: Obama 2016 Is Coming To Our Town

The film, co-directed by D’Souza and John Sullivan and produced by Academy Award winner Gerald R. Molen, has already grossed $2.1 million in 169 theaters, according to the Hollywood Reporter. It placed just behind “Bully,” which earned $3.2 million, and currently ranks as the No. 12 political documentary of all time.

For the weekend of Aug. 17, the film hit No. 13 on the overall domestic box-office chart, according to Box Office Mojo. Still small, but growing.

Immersed in exotic locales across four continents, best selling author Dinesh D’Souza races against time to find answers to Obama’s past and reveal where America will be in 2016. During this journey he discovers how Hope and Change became radically misunderstood, and identifies new flashpoints for hot wars in mankind’s greatest struggle. D’souza also added that it is a

“marginal, eccentric and some would say heretical”

“What’s particularly interesting is it happens to be the theology of the president of the United States. So, in my view he is not a Muslim. He is fundamentally a secular guy. But to the degree he can be described as a christian he believes in this particular wing of Christianity.”

We want to find out who we elected here, something we used to depend on the mainstream media to do. In the old days … we counted on the media to vet the candidates, lest we make a mistake. We did not plan on the media joining one of the campaigns, and engage is selling us the lies. Silly us.

What Is It That Obama Is Doing, To America?

Despite Obama hatred for our meritocracy, the way our country was established. Our original p[urle was to award merit on the field of battle, not award the meaningless wounds received of today. What reward is their in rewarding being wounded? Ask yourself.

Even in the 1950s, the United States was becoming the power to be reckoned with; American domination has only increased in the ensuing decades.
