The number of people injured in the Boston Marathon bombings has been revised sharply upwards.

Medical officials now say 282 competitors and bystanders suffered injuries from the twin blasts, that took place last Monday near the finish line of the Boston Marathon.

Of those injured, 48 remain hospitalized, two who are reported in critical condition. They are a 7-year-old girl, and a man described as being in his 60s.

Boston Medical Director of Endovascular Surgery Dr. Jeffery Kalish says 14 patients had one or more limbs amputated, and now face what he calls “daunting” recoveries.

Marathon bombings mastermind Tamerlan Tsarnaev was living on taxpayer-funded state welfare benefits even as he was delving deep into the world of radical anti-American Islamism, the Herald has learned.

State officials confirmed last night that Tsarnaev, slain in a raging gun battle with police last Friday, was receiving benefits along with his wife, Katherine Russell Tsarnaev, and their 3-year-old daughter. The state’s Executive Office of Health and Human Services said those benefits ended in 2012 when the couple stopped meeting income eligibility limits. Russell Tsarnaev’s attorney has claimed Katherine — who had converted to Islam — was working up to 80 hours a week as a home health aide while Tsarnaev stayed at home.

No comments, but one, I think our government is broken …

Supporters and opponents of Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood clashed on the streets of Cairo today. Riot police fired tear gas as the rival groups fought near the Brotherhood headquarters.

More like boing, plop, everybody back on your head now, take a break, time for prayer.

Well the riots in Egypt are continuing … I assume the people have figured out by now the new dictator is worse than the last dictator.

What you didn’t know how the Arab Spring is still on-going?

Well they know:

An official statement encouraging Egyptian civilians to arrest lawbreakers and hand them over to police has set off a new political storm in a country already mired in crisis.

A senior leader of a hard-line Islamist faction loyal to President Mohammed Morsi said his group was preparing lists of volunteers ready to take over police duties if needed.

The main opposition coalition saw the statement on citizen arrests by the attorney general’s office as a prelude to the substitution of the police by militias belonging to Morsi’s powerful Muslim Brotherhood group and allied Islamist groups who swept to power after Egypt’s uprising two years ago.

“It is now clear why the regime insists on pitting the police against the people and relying on security measures to tackle problems that need social, economic and political solutions,” the opposition National Salvation Front said in a statement on Monday.

Egypt has been embroiled in wave after wave of political protests since the 2011 uprising that ousted Hosni Mubarak’s autocratic regime.

The unrest has been fueled by the entire range of social ills from tenuous security to an unraveling economy and the leadership of Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood. The Brotherhood controls parliament as well as the presidency and has won every election since Mubarak’s ouster.

Arab Spring Bears More Fruits: Tunisia Now One Of The Top Exporters Of Jihadists In Wake Of Arab Spring…

Of course pre-Arab Spring Tunisia was staunchly secular, not so much these days. Yes this is from that AP newsservice, so I don’t know it’s accuracy.  Proceed with caution, as always with unvetted sources.

TUNIS, Tunisia (AP) — TUNISIANS HEAD ABROAD TO PERFORM JIHAD

The cradle of the Arab Spring is increasingly looking like the birthplace of jihadists.

Long before Tunisia ousted its dictator and inspired the North African pro-democracy movement, the small, relatively prosperous country had the more dubious distinction of exporting Islamic militants. Now, as the country wrestles with the creation of a new government after the killing of a liberal opposition leader, experts say the flow of fighters is getting worse.

The repressive measures of the old secular dictatorship fueled the anger that produced jihadi movements, but its ruthless security apparatus also kept them largely in check. The much more relaxed approach of the country’s new leaders is allowing extremist groups and their networks to flourish like never before, experts say.

Though no one knows for sure just how many Tunisian fighters have traveled abroad, evidence suggests it remains one of the top exporters of jihadists per capita. Tunisians have turned up on the battlefields of Iraq, Syria, Libya and now Mali. The 32-man militant strike team that seized a gas plant in Algeria and took dozens of foreign workers hostage was more than one-third Tunisian.

Because of its small, well-educated population, there were hopes Tunisia would transition relatively easily to democracy after the ouster of Zine El Abidine Ben Ali in January 2011. But it is now a battleground pitting secularists and Islamists against one another and in the confusion of creating a new state networks radicalized by the previous regime are flourishing.

Revealed: Al-Qaeda’s 22 Tips For Dodging Drones… (You Never Know, They May Come In Handy One Day.)

Al-Qaeda’s list of 22 tips for dodging drone attacks – including at least one believed to originate with Osama bin Laden – has been found hidden inside a manila envelope in a building abandoned by Islamists in Mali.

The document includes advice such as “hide under thick trees” (believed to be bin Laden’s contribution), and instructions for setting up a “fake gathering” using dolls to “mislead the enemy”.

Like a fake wedding party, they come in handy for the lamestream media …

Found by the Associated Press in a building in Timbuktu, the ancient city occupied by Islamists last year, the document is believed to have been abandoned as extremists fled a French military intervention last month. It is a Xeroxed copy of a tipsheet authored by a Yemeni extremist that has been published on some jihadi forums, but that has made little appearance in English.

The list reflects how al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghbreb anticipated a military intervention that would make use of drones, as the war on terror shifts from the ground to the air.

The document also shows the coordination between al-Qaeda chapters, which security experts have called a source of increasing concern.

“This new document… shows we are no longer dealing with an isolated local problem, but with an enemy which is reaching across continents to share advice,” said Bruce Riedel, a 30-year veteran of the CIA, now the director of the Intelligence Project at the Brookings Institute.

While some of the tips are outdated or far-fetched, taken together, they suggest the Islamists in Mali are responding to the threat of drones with sound, common-sense advice that may help them to melt into the desert in between attacks, leaving barely a trace.

New Dictator Better than Old Dictator: Egyptians Outraged After Protester Stripped and Dragged Naked Through the Streets of Cairo

“Russia Today” has the video. Note the western media is laying down for the Islamists, and their grand and glorious joke of an Arab Spring … Note the gun fire in the video, from the statist police..

Real news does not come from American sources … Too bad really.

Sporadic clashes continued through the night near Cairo’s presidential palace with police dispersing petrol bomb-throwing protesters with tear gas and birdshot. At least one person has been killed in the violence. Dozens of people have reportedly been arrested. Some of the arrests turned ugly with at least one case of police beating and stripping a protester, and dragging him naked into a police van “like a piece of meat,” Cairo-based journalist Bel Trew reported in her twitter. Before they caught the protester the Cairo Security Forces were laughing and shouting “go get him, go get him,” Trew added.

After eight days of protests that killed nearly 60 people, a video of one demonstrator stripped naked, dragged across the ground and beaten with truncheons by helmeted riot police has fired Egyptians to a new level of outrage.

Hamada Saber, a middle-aged man, lay in a police hospital on Saturday, the morning after he was shown on television naked, covered in soot and thrashed by half a dozen policemen who had pulled him to an armored vehicle near the presidential palace.

President Mohamed Mursi’s office promised an investigation of the incident, which followed the deadliest wave of bloodshed of his seven-month rule. His opponents say it proves that he has chosen to order a brutal crackdown like that carried out by Hosni Mubarak against the uprising that toppled him in 2011.

“Mursi has been stripped bare and has lost his legitimacy. Done,” tweeted Ahmed Maher, founder of the April 6 youth movement that helped launch the anti-Mubarak protests.

Another protester was shot dead on Friday and more than 100 were injured, many seriously, after running battles between police and demonstrators who attacked the palace with petrol bombs.

Extreme: Top Egyptian Mufti Calls For Crucifixion of Anti-Morsi Activists

The Islamist party of the Jihad Organization and Jama’a al-Islamiya called for the crucifixion of the Black Bloc anti-Morsi protesters in Egypt.

The Egypt Independent reported:

The Islamist party of the Jihad Organization and Jama’a al-Islamiya has said the ways of dealing with banditry specified in the Quran must be applied to Black Blocmembers, which means they must be killed.

“God orders us to kill, crucify or cut off the hands and feet of those who spread mischief on earth,”
said Jama’a al-Islamiya Mufti Abdel Akhar Hammad, citing a verse from the Quran. “The president must give that order.”

Mohamed Samra of the Jihad Organization said that the Black Bloc group is financed from abroad and must be killed, and that the National Salvation Front members must be arrested and charged with incitement to riot.

Last week, Cairo witnessed the first appearance groups describing themselves as the Black Bloc. Decked in black and wearing masks, they clashed with police forces at Qasr al-Aini Street on Thursday. They said they would fight with the police if it targeted protesters. Previously unknown, the Black Bloc’s goals remain unclear and its members generally avoid media contact.

President Obama is requesting $1.55 billion in aid to Egypt, about 80 percent of it in the form of military assistance.

If you recall the Muslim Brotherhood is where al Qaeda came. Egypt rejected them under Mubarak. So subsequently, they fled Egypt, went to Afghanistan and the Taliban there. Then attacked America on 9/11.

Whatdo the Islamo Fascists want? They want it all. Freedom and Islam are orthogonal concepts.

The Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) posted unbelievable video Sunday of Islamists rallying in England a little over one week ago to protest the French intervention in Mali.

The chants of the Islamists, though, appear to target the West in its entirety.  Far from objecting to French foreign policy, the speakers repeatedly threaten that an Islamic caliphate will begin in Africa and the Middle East, but will eventually spread to “the whole world.”

“We will not stop as Muslims until the whole world is governed by Islam,” one man says evenly and calmly.

The video begins with a bearded individual leading chants, saying things like “Shariah for Mali! Jihad for Mali!” and “Allah Akbar!”

Soon, though, he launches into a more informative speech.

“We got rid of some of our dictators– Ben Ali, Mubarak, and al-Qadhafi.  But now it’s time for the dictators in Mali, in Pakistan, in Bangladesh, and all over Muslim lands to be removed and replaced by the shariah, by Islam,” he states.

Another speaker, who seems far more composed and level-headed, makes a bolder declaration.

Obama Calls Egypt’s Morsi To Complain About Riots…

Two dictators commiserating?

JPost reports that the Egyptian protesters broke the barrier at Morsi’s palace.  Obama reacts by calling Morsi to complain about the riots fueled by Morsi’s opponents… but not to complain about Morsi’s power grab (the catalyst for the riots).

Daily Caller reports the following:

President Barack Obama called Egypt’s Islamist president Dec. 6 to complain about televised riots in Cairo that showcase the collapse of Obama’s much-touted 2009 “New Beginning” outreach to Islamist progressive groups.

The president called “to express his deep concern about the deaths and injuries of protesters in Egypt … [and he] emphasized that all political leaders in Egypt should make clear to their supporters that violence is unacceptable,” according to a White House statement.

At least six people have been killed in the riots, which reports say have also injured hundreds more. (RELATED: Morsi flees presidential palace as crowds rage)

The call was made shortly after President Mohammed Morsi went on Egyptian TV to denounce the protesters as agents of unnamed foreigners and Egypt’s deposed autocrats. He vowed to push ahead with a Dec. 15 vote that is expected to ratify a draft constitution based on Islamic political priorities.

“Afterwards, there should be no obstacle, and everyone must follow its will,” Morsi told the nation, according to press reports.

The White House’s Dec. 6 statement said nothing about any use of U.S. sanctions to preserve democracy or civil rights in the country of 72 million, even though Morsi is pushing to create a Islamist theocracy.

“The Obama administration can and should be doing a lot more in public to make clear the red lines in America’s policy towards Egypt,” said Robert Zarate, the policy director at the D.C.-based Foreign Policy Initiative.

“We should be using that aid as a lever, because what we want to see is an Egyptian constitution and an Egyptian government that respects impartial rule of law, that protects the rights of religious minorities and of women … and the competitive spirit of politics,” he told The Daily Caller.
