A Terrorist Waits: Accused Fort Hood Shooter Paid $278,000 While Awaiting Trial

May 21, 2013

WHY? Everybody knows the Islamic terrorist did the crime…

So the problem is the person accused still gets his pay … Until convicted, which just seems to drag on and on … So far since murdering the soldiers at Ft Hood he has collected more than $278,000 in pay. Does anyone know WHY? Wouldn’t a firing squad be cheaper? It there any doubt he did it? What more do we need?

Justice? What about the victims?

NBC DFW reported:

The Department of Defense confirms to NBC 5 Investigates that accused Fort Hood shooter Major Nidal Hasan has now been paid more than $278,000 since the Nov. 5, 2009 shooting that left 13 dead 32 injured. The Army said under the Military Code of Justice, Hasan’s salary cannot be suspended unless he is proven guilty.

If Hasan had been a civilian defense department employee, NBC 5 Investigates has learned, the Army could have suspended his pay after just seven days.

Personnel rules for most civilian government workers allow for “indefinite suspensions” in cases “when the agency has reasonable cause to believe that the employee has committed a crime for which a sentence of imprisonment may be imposed.”

Meanwhile, more than three years later soldiers wounded in the mass shooting are fighting to receive the same pay and medical benefits given to those wounded in combat.

COVERUP: Report: IRS Deliberately Chose Not to Fess Up to Scandal Before Election. “[I]f this fact came out in September 2012, in the middle of a presidential election? The terrain would have looked very different.”

IRS Deliberately Chose Not to Fess Up to Scandal Before Election

The IRS commissioner “has known for at least a year that this was going on,” said Myers, “and that this had happened. And did he share any of that information with the White House? But even more importantly, Congress is going to ask him, why did you mislead us for an entire year? Members of Congress were saying conservatives are being targeted. What’s going on here? The IRS denied it. Then when — after these officials are briefed by the IG that this is going on, they don’t disclose it. In fact, the commissioner sent a letter to Congress in September on this subject and did not reveal this. Imagine if we — if you can — what would have happened if this fact came out in September 2012, in the middle of a presidential election? The terrain would have looked very different.”

As If You Didn’t Know: IRS HID PROBE UNTIL AFTER ELECTION

May 17, 2013

It was all about the 2012 election.

Report: IRS Deliberately Chose Not to Fess Up to Scandal Before ElectionThe question that had Lois Lerner admission, it was planted. So were they trying to distract from Benghazi. The Benghazi must be covered up. The truth must be hidden. What would Americans think if it were known Obama was running arms to Al Qaeda through Turkey.

When NIXON put out his edited transcripts it read a lot like Nixon did, and then the tape came out.

Not one reference to the alleged video … Here is the Benghazi email PDF

The weekly Standard writes …

NBC’s Lisa Myers reported this morning that the IRS deliberately chose not to reveal that it had wrongly targeted conservative groups until after the 2012 presidential election:

There Was A Time …

May 8, 2013

Nowhere is [the result of mainstream media bias] more obvious than in the relentless imploding viewership of once financial media titan, CNBC, which lately has become a sad, one-sided caricature of its once informative self, whose only agenda is to get the most marginal Joe Sixpack to dump his hard-earned cash into 100x P/E stocks, and where according to data from Nielsen Media Research, the total and demographic (25-54) viewership during the prime time segment (9:30am – 5:00 pm) just tumbled to 216K and 40K – the lowest recorded viewership since mid 2005 and sliding.

CNBC Nielsen

NBC, the bought and paid for Obama network … Now Comcast takes the reigns.

So why the relentless collapse in CNBC viewers, which in turns leads to plunging ad revenues (aside from our observations from last summer on just this topic) and which has forced the station to even resort to muppets as a cheap ratings-boosting gimmick? Perhaps it has something to do with outbursts like this, where 13 minutes into the clip, one Jim Cramer tells the camera point blank when discussing daily market gyrations, and with absolutely no remorse, that I want everyone to play that game at home by recognizing that fraud is part of the equation and the government cannot stop it.

That’s right: on one hand CNBC’s most overcaffeinated anchor admits that the market is nothing but uncontrollable fraud, and on the other he beckons viewers and listeners, usually with the assistance of assorted bovine sounds, to “buy, buy, buy.

Perhaps the greater fool is truly dead, or simply the embedded hypocrisy of the CNBC stock “infomercial” is so transparent that nobody really cares what the Comcast subsidiary’s paid entertainers have to say any more.

Gasoline Prices Dip Again, Bringing Hopes for Relief: AAA [Media helps BO, says lower than ' 08]

April 8, 2013

Forget that gasoline has doubled, and now stands at $3.79 (locally).

Who needs a steenking pipeline, we have our Obama. Why drill when gasoline is so low.

Hey look we have even met our Kyoto deadlines, our economy is so sick. Dead economy.

From the shills at NBC:

Gasoline prices, which have been on a near-relentless surge since late 2012, may be showing tentative signs of easing, data from the AAA showed on Tuesday.

The automobile group said in its Daily Fuel Gauge report that the current national average for regular unleaded gasoline prices was $3.70, down 3 cents from last week and nearly 10 cents lower than a year ago.

That fall represented two consecutive weeks of decline, according to AAA.

If we were to drill, I would bet the Islamist’s would lower gasoline even lower in price. Why should a country with more fossil fuels that any other be so beholding to these Arab killers? You tell me?

Sen. Jeff Flake: Universal background checks ‘a bridge too far’

April 1, 2013

The paperwork requirement alone is nothing more than registration of all firearms, with the federal government. Sen. Rand Paul has it right. Get rid of the Bill.

The Washington Times writes:

Sen. Jeff Flake, Arizona Republican, said Sunday that universal background checks on all gun sales are “a bridge too far for most of us” as Democrats try to cobble together a package that can win 60 votes in the Senate.

“We do need to strengthen the background check system, but universal background checks, I think, is a bridge too far for most of us,” Mr. Flake said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “The paperwork requirements alone would be significant.”

Mr. Flake — along with Sen. Lindsey Graham, South Carolina Republican, and Democratic Sens. Mark Begich of Alaska and Mark L. Pryor of Arkansas — has introduced legislation intended to clarify issues surrounding mental illness and which people are legally barred from buying or owning a firearm.

Sen. Charles E. Schumer, New York Democrat, has introduced a bill that would require near-universal background checks for all gun sales, but said he’s still hunting for a measure that can get 60 votes in the Senate. His bill passed the Senate Judiciary Committee on a straight party-line vote after bipartisan talks on compromise legislation broke down over the issue of record-keeping on gun sales.

Gun Free Chicago Ranks Last in Gun Law Enforcement

March 24, 2013

National Rifle Association head Wayne LaPierre on Sunday ripped the national media for not reporting that Chicago, suffering from an epidemic of gun violence, ranks “dead last” in enforcement of federal gun laws.

“Let me hold up a mirror right now to the whole national news media and the White House,” LaPierre said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” Citing new 2012 data from Syracuse University, LaPierre said that out of 90 jurisdictions, Chicago ranks last.

“Why doesn’t NBC News start with ‘shocking news on Chicago, of all the jurisdictions in the country, Chicago is dead last in the enforcement of federal gun laws’?” he demanded. “Why don’t the national press corps, when they’re sitting down there with Jay Carney and the president and the vice president, why don’t they say, ‘Why is Chicago dead last in enforcement of the gun laws against gangs with guns, felons with guns, drugs dealers with guns?’”

NBC host David Gregory didn’t respond to LaPierre’s charge, instead asking only whether he and the NRA “support those as felonies.”

“Absolutely and we want them taken off the street,” LaPierre said. “If you’re the president and the vice president and the attorney general and your job is to enforce these laws against the — I’m talking about drug dealers, gangs and felons that are walking around with guns in the street — and you don’t do it, you bear some responsibility.”

HERE’S WHY YOU MIGHT WANT TO STOP GIVING OUT YOUR ZIP CODE TO STORES

March 21, 2013

Think about it …

You might have thought nothing of stores asking for your ZIP code when you’re making a purchase. After all, it’s just the general location of where you live, right?

According to privacy experts, giving out your ZIP code might reveal more about you than you intend to reveal.

In a recent interview with NBC’s Today show, Privacy Rights Clearinghouse Policy and Advocacy Director Paul Stephens advised customers against offering up their ZIP codes. He said when paired with information like the customer’s name on a credit card, these ZIP codes can help identify the person’s actual address and target them with marketing materials, like junk mail.

Coburn: Washington Wastes $200 Billion Annually

March 11, 2013

Makes the sequestration look like chump change … So why all the whining?

Sen. Tom Coburn said Sunday last week’s dinner meeting with President Barack Obama about the federal budget and sequestration might lead to a turning point in a “dysfunctional” Washington D.C.

Appearing on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” the Republican said he is proud of Obama for reaching across party lines and welcomes discussion about how to cut spending.

“He is moving in the right direction,” Coburn said. “I’m proud of him for doing it, and I think it’s a great thing. But it shouldn’t be news.”

Obama invited a handful of mostly moderate senators, including Coburn, to an exclusive dinner Wednesday night at the Jefferson Hotel.

Pop Culture’s Most Popular TV Show Is–Brace Yourself–The Bible

March 10, 2013

Megan Basham reports on the way The Bible stacks up against other cultural phenomenons on TV:

This past Sunday the television industry felt the ground shake when the first installment of the History Channel’s five-part miniseries, The Bible, drew a whopping 14.3 million viewers. To put that in perspective, those are higher ratings than American Idol drew on Fox in the same week. Higher ratings than the premiere of Celebrity Apprentice on NBC. And it officially made The Biblethe number one scripted cable broadcast of the year.

The news was apparently so astonishing it prompted Business Weekto investigate exactly how the basic cable network pulled it off and inspired Timemagazine’s resident T.V. critic, James Poniewozik, to ponder whether The Bible’s success will lead to further mainstream forays into religious-themed entertainment.

What’s more astonishing, given how often pro-faith productions put up massive numbers, is that major media outlets still feel the need to run shocked headlines about it.
