Tea Party Goes To Washington, Yesterday

May 17, 2013

IRS targeting Tea Party groups, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) is now using that scandal to try to bring down President Obama’s Affordable Care Act. During a rally in Washington Thursday morning, Bachmann spoke to the press, asking, in light of what happened with the IRS, “could there be potential political implications of access to healthcare, denial of healthcare?”

After outline the “extremely troubling” details of the IRS targeting story, Bachmann made an effort to tie the scandal to her consistent opposition to the president’s health care law. “Knowing it’s the IRS who will be the enforcing mechanism for this new entitlement program of Obamacare,” Bachmann stated, “it is very important to ask — and now it is reasonable to ask — could there be potential political implications of access to healthcare, denial of healthcare? Will that happen based upon a person’s political beliefs, or their religiously held beliefs?”

“Those questions would have been considered out of bounds a week ago,” she continued. “Today these questions are considered more than reasonable, and more than fair for the American people.”

Bachmann was joined at the rally by other like-minded members of Congress, including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Rand Paul (R-KY), along with members of Tea Party groups from across the country.

Geraldo Rivera: Sources Tell Me Benghazi Was About Running Missiles to Syrian Rebels — And That’s What the Cover Up is All About.

May 11, 2013

As the crap circles the drain, the truth is coming out. As many had suspected, it was all to cover up a gun running, err missile running, smuggling operation by the Obama administration. Yep that would be arms for Al Qaeda if you didn’t know who Ansar al-Sharia(am Al Qaeda affiliated group) was all about… Arming terrorists, and hiding that fact from the American people, that was what it was all about.

Arming terrorists, for what, we don’t know, the missiles could just as easily be aimed at our airliners.

Geraldo Rivera told FOX and Friends today that the Benghazi attack may have been about running missiles to Syria…

“I believe, and my sources tell me, they were there to round up those shoulder-fired surface-to-air missiles, they were going to hand those missiles over to the Turks and the Turks were going to give them to the rebels in Syria. It was like Iran-Contra, I think it merits gigantic investigation, it will all become clear.”

In January, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) suggested the Obama Administration may have been smuggling guns to jihadist groups in the Middle East in a possible “international Fast and Furious” gun running operation. Rand Paul later doubled down and accused the Obama Administration of a cover-up for running guns through Turkey to terrorist groups in the region.

Giving missiles to terrorist groups and that expalins why the American people could not know the full extent and why it all had to be covered up with the video ruse.

Rand Paul: Obama Did Away With NSEERS Program That Scrutinized Immigrants from 25 Muslim Countries

April 23, 2013

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) was on Happening Now this morning and remarked on Obama’s previous moves to make America less secure. Obama did away with the NSEERS (National Security Entry and Exit Registration System) program that scrutinized immigrants from 25, mostly Muslim, countries. Rand Paul reminded FOX viewers of this program this morning.

“Where 25 countries were targeted and we said they need special scrutiny to make sure they’re not coming here to attack us. President Obama disbanded that.”

Liberals like Obama thought NSEERS was offensive and discriminatory. So Obama did away with it.

Mitch McConnell To Filibuster Gun Control

April 9, 2013

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has promised to filibuster new gun control legislation, putting up a significant roadblock to Democratic efforts to move forward on the measure this week.

McConnell is now the 15th Senator to sign on to the Republican gun control filibuster, an effort that has been spearheaded by conservative Sens. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), Ted Cruz (R-Texas), and Mike Lee (R-Utah).

As the top Senate Republican, McConnell’s support gives the filibuster a much higher chance of success, imperiling the already-delicate bipartisan negotiations on new gun control measures.

McConnell’s promise to filibuster also deflates criticism from the more moderate wing of the GOP. During an appearance on CBS’s Face The Nation Sunday, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) seemed bewildered by the idea of the filibuster, and called on Republicans to allow debate over the bill.

I assume the bill is Schumer gun registration bill, deguised as sorm sort of background check bill, but since no mere mortals have seen it, I don’t really know.

Is this what the “Obama propalosa” is all about? Ever seen any president needs so many prop-people to do his song and dance act. The show must go on, you never know when the low information voters will tune in.

So grab that 32 oz soda, take a comfy seat, it should be a doozie. No word on the planned “show times” for your area.

Rubio joins group threatening to filibuster gun control legislation (Inhofe as well)

March 29, 2013

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) on Thursday joined a group of Republicans threatening to filibuster gun control legislation in the Senate.

“We, the undersigned, intend to oppose any legislation that would infringe on the American people’s constitutional right to bear arms, or on their ability to exercise this right without being subjected to government surveillance,” he wrote in a statement on his website.

Sen Inhofe also signed on …

So here Is How The Dirty Trick Works…

March 26, 2013

A motion to proceed then allows Dingy to substitute Difi’s whole AW ban for the gun bill. Like what the donks did with ObamaCare. But some have caught on to the trick.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid should expect a letter from Sens. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Mike Lee (R-Utah) on Tuesday. In it, the three Republican senators warn Reid that they will oppose a motion to proceed any gun control legislation.

“We will oppose the motion to proceed to any legislation that will serve as a vehicle for any additional gun restrictions,” the signed letter reads, according to a copy obtained by Politico.

While the GOP lawmakers don’t specifically mention the word “filibuster,” there aren’t really an array of options when opposing a “motion to proceed.” In other words, the filibuster threat is pretty clear.

Politico’s Jonathan Allen has more:

Reid plans to bring up a gun-control measure that focuses on broadening background checks and cracking down on interstate gun-trafficking after the current Senate recess.

Conservatives are concerned that once that bill reaches the floor, amendments could stiffen restrictions on gun control.

Moreover, they understand that Reid intends to allow liberal amendments that would limit clip capacity and ban certain assault weapons to be offered — even though they would be defeated — to give Democrats a chance to vote on them. For moderate Democrats in competitive states, that amounts to an opportunity to vote no and show allegiance to gun rights.

Would you support a Paul, Cruz, Lee filibuster against gun control legislation?

Randslide: A 50-Point Swing Against Targeted Drone Killings of U.S. Citizens

March 25, 2013

A year ago, as the presidential race was taking shape, The Washington Post’s pollster asked voters whether they favored the use of drones to kill terrorists or terror suspects if they were “American citizens living in other countries.” The net rating at the time was positive: 65 percent for, 26 percent against.

Today, after a month of Rand Paul-driven discussion of drone warfare, Gallup asks basically the same question: Should the U.S. “use drones to launch airstrikes in other countries against U.S. citizens living abroad who are suspected terrorists?” The new numbers: 41 percent for, 52 percent against.

The lede of the poll is even kinder to Paul, finding as high as 79 percent opposition to targeted killing in the United States. But that’s a new question. On the old question, we’ve seen a real queasy swing of public opinion.

Krauthammer: Senate Democrats Budget ‘Marches Us Off a Cliff Into Greece and Perhaps Cyprus’

March 24, 2013

Senate Democrats on Saturday narrowly passed their first budget in four years. With only a Trillion in new taxes!!!

Appearing on PBS’s Inside Washington Friday before the vote, syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer called it “the most appalling document you have ever seen” claiming, “It marches us off a cliff into Greece and perhaps into Cyprus” (video follows with transcript and absolutely no need for additional commentary):

Dr. Ben Carson: I Like Rand Paul But I Might Run Too

March 20, 2013

Dr. Ben Carson was on with Hannity the other night.

Evidently, he’s a Rand Paul fan.

Common Cents posted the video:

CP Politics has the transcript:

“I certainly like the individual you just had on, Rand Paul. And it’s not just because he’s a doctor, like I am,” Carson told Fox’s Sean Hannity on Monday when asked who he likes most out of those possibly seeking a 2016 GOP presidential nomination.

“[Paul] thinks quite logically, and, you know, he has courage. He’s willing to take positions that some other people won’t,” Carson continued.

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) won one in four (25 percent) of the 2,930 ballots cast …

“And part of the problem that we’re having right now is that a lot of people who lack courage, who always want everybody to adore them, and they just are not willing to take stands based on real convictions, and when I see that, I’m very impressed with it,” Carson added.
