Dr. Sally Baliunas discusses the history of people’s reactions to extreme weather.
When extreme weather in Europe centuries ago made people fearful, it led to many people being tortured and killed for “weather cooking” with the help of Satan.

Hopefully we are a saner people now.
We are now approaching the end of the current intergacial period, so beware. An interglacial period is a geological interval of warmer global average temperature lasting thousands of years that separates consecutive glacial periods within an ice age. The current Holocene interglacial has persisted since the end of the Pleisotene, about 11,400 years ago.
The current age of glacial cycling started when plate tectonics closed off the Ithumus of Panama. And the great ocean currents had to ciruclate from the north pole to the south pole. Instead of taking the short cut which was through the Ithumus of Panama. That happened about 3-4 million years ago, glaciation periods happen every (approximate) 120 thousand years, with the interglacial warm periods, like today, lasting (about) 11,000 years. We are nearing the end of the Holocene period. You may note that that period encompasses the entire history of modern man.
It’s not entirely clear what phenomena causes the cycling but, scientific study is ongoing. Some say it is the Milankovitch Cycles of the earth as it travels around our sun.
