NYT Editorial: Another Chilling Leak Investigation — Rosen, AP Scandal

May 22, 2013

Making criminals out of reporters … hey that’s what Chavez did, before the reporters and owners of newspapers and TV networks were killed in the banana republic of Venezuela he ruled. Seems like our dictator has a lot in common with him, than it does our founders country.

Time to stand or we loose our country … NOW!

The Rosen case follows other signs that the administration has gone overboard in its zeal to find and muzzle insiders. The Associated Press revealed last week that the government had secretly seized two months’ of records for telephones used by the agency’s staff, partly to determine the source of a leak about a report involving a foiled terrorist plot in Yemen. At least two other major leak investigations are continuing. Six current and former administration officials have been indicted under the old Espionage Act for leaking classified information to the press and public. In 2010, a federal judge in Maryland sentenced a leaker to 20 months in jail while admitting that he was “in the dark as to the kind of documents” involved in the leak or what impact they had on national security.

Obama administration officials often talk about the balance between protecting secrets and protecting the constitutional rights of a free press. Accusing a reporter of being a “co-conspirator,” on top of other zealous and secretive investigations, shows a heavy tilt toward secrecy and insufficient concern about a free press.

If I Vote For Mitt Romney They Told US

April 13, 2013

Obama’s Tax Rate 18.4%. On over $600k in income.

Of course Mitt earned his money with a real job. Obama just destroys jobs. And the middle class.

The WSJ writes:

WASHINGTON—President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama paid $112,214 in federal income taxes in 2012 on adjusted gross income of $608,611, an effective rate of 18.4%, the White House said Friday.

The first family’s income declined from the $789,674 in adjusted gross income they reported in 2011. That year they paid total federal taxes of $162,074, an effective rate of 20.5%. Their 2012 income continues a steep decline from 2010 when they reported $1.7 million in adjusted gross income, the bulk of which was royalties from sales from books written by Mr. Obama.

When Did Chavez Die: Venezuela May be Unable to Embalm Chavez’s Remains

March 14, 2013

We have a problem ….Brings up the question doesn’t it when did he die, Embalming is only possible at the time of death, the body decays from the moment of death, or as soon as possible after death.

Venezuela’s government said on Wednesday it may not be possible to embalm the remains of late leader Hugo Chavez as planned because the process should have been started earlier.

Chavez died last week aged 58 after a two-year battle with cancer. His body has been on display in a glass-topped coffin at a grandiose military academy in the capital Caracas, where millions of people have filed past to pay homage.

The government had said it planned to embalm Chavez’s remains “for eternity” in much the same way as was done with the remains of Soviet leaders Lenin and Stalin and communist Chinese leader Mao Zedong after they died.

“Russian and German scientists have arrived to embalm Chavez and they tell us it’s very difficult because the process should have started earlier … Maybe we can’t do it,” acting President Nicolas Maduro said in televised comments on Wednesday.

So when did the dictator really die?

Death of a Despot, Mourned by American Marxists

March 11, 2013

Ding dong… The Venezuelan dictator is dead at the age of 58 from pelvic cancer. He literally rotted from within, just as his soul did. Good riddance, to Marxist rubbish.

But Hugo Chavez’s comrades in the US and across the planet mourn his passing. Grief stricken Leftists such as Sean Penn, the Reverend Jesse Jackson, Danny Glover, Michael Moore, Jimmy Carter, Oliver Stone, Naomi Campbell, Kevin Spacey, Courtney Love, Barack Obama, SEIU (who held a memorial) and a cadre of Hollywood reds are devastated by the loss of their Marxist brethren, who in the end, begged that his subjects not let him die. Iran, Bolivia, China and El Salvador all held tributes to their evil compadre. George Galloway of Britain called him a ‘Spartacus.’ You are who you associate with and mourn for. A fitting end to a crushing, cowardly rule. I don’t hold much hope that his death will free Venezuela though. His second in command will probably succeed him and he is just as insane and just as ruthless as his mentor. May G-d have mercy on Venezuela.

All throughout the media I hear how Chavez was a champion of the underdog, the poor of Venezuela. Really? The only one Chavez championed was himself. He was rumored to be worth approximately 2 billion when he died. People are starving and dying in the streets of Venezuela, while this evil loon ransacked every dime he could from their coffers. Oil kept Chavez fat and sassy until death came knocking.

For instance… Before Chavez left this planet for a warmer climate, on paper, it showed that incomes were increasing in Venezuela. In reality, inflation decreased household income by 8.8%. But goods rose by 27% in costs. Gee, sounds a lot like what America is experiencing doesn’t it? Brought to you by American Marxists.

Bernanke should go to a grocery store.

Venezuelans are worse off now than before the Communist came to power. Weird how that works.

Low misinformation voters pay close attention.

Socialism, Let’s Review Venezuela

March 10, 2013

For some reason or another, a growing number of individuals, who resent the wealthy, the well-to-do, the affluent and those who have a great deal of success, picture a fantastic utopia where everyone is wealthy, everyone has an expensive home and everyone is employed.

As history has depicted as well as the present state of Venezuela, this is far from the truth.

Whether it’s ignorance, delusions or misinformation, the likes of Oliver Stone, Sean Penn and former President Jimmy Carter should live in these countries that do not embrace capitalism, free markets and even freedom.

Unfortunately, Chavez’s reign of terror will be viewed as a heroic endeavor that created unprecedented prosperity. Soon, akin to fellow socialists and communists such as Che Guevara, Joseph Stalin, Mao Tse-Tung and Kim Jong-il, Chavez will be a folk hero and appear on t-shirts around the world, which will be sported by uninformed hipsters and teenagers everywhere.

Here are 20 consequences of Hugo Chavez’s economic policies that led to poverty ….

Tribute To Chavez

March 9, 2013

Wearing red berets and shedding fake tears, Glenn Beck and company on Friday paid “tribute” to the late notorious Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez.

It was during Beck’s radio program Friday morning that Chavez was eulogized. Beck covered all of the socialist leader’s “achievements,” including runaway inflation and food shortages.

“It is fitting that after making the Venezuelan healthcare system the envy of the entire planet Hugo Chavez refused to utilize it leaving more space available for the people he loved and he left a lot of space. The specialist kidney unit in Caracas has been completely empty for nearly a year. No one is there. Not a single patient. Doctors have been turning patients away ever since the hospital’s water treatment plant broke down months ago,” co-host Pat Gray said. “Fortunately Hugo, whom we just lost, made no one with kidney failure had to put up with a hospital with less than stellar water treatment.”

Then it was Beck’s turn to remember Chavez. He went on to deliver a sarcastic and mocking eulogy.

“Venezuela, no the world, has lost a great leader, has lost a great dictator and fabulous strongman. Hugo Chavez’s fourteen year of reign of wonderful socialism and heavy-handed oppression came to an end earlier this week,” Beck said.

He continued:

“Sure there have been shortages of basic goods and water rationing and blackouts. And despite nearly $1 trillion in oil revenue the nation is on the verge of collapse which will bring the opportunity for the Venezuelan people to be even closer. More togetherness for the people that he loved so dearly.”

“Through his corruption an ineptitude, Hugo was was able to oversee a massive increase in the murder rate from 25 per 1,000 to 45.1 per 100,000 in 2011. He nearly doubled the murder rate, thus helping Venezuelans get in touch with how life is precious is. Now they don’t take a single minute, a single stroll in the park, sending their kids off to school for granted. It might be the last stroll they ever take.”

Federal Government Offices In Washington DC Will Not Open Today Due To Snow

March 6, 2013

Odd how a little snow will shut the whole BS machine down. Maybe we need more, to cover our dictator in chief. He wants to be our Chavez.

Today, the Federal Government’s office in D.C. will be closed due to weather: we note this because supposedly someone would notice a difference. Not the sequester, no matter how hard the administration would like to blame it for today’s shutdown, but the weather is to blame.

Stone McCarthy explains what this means for today’s economic reports:

“The Office of Personal Management announced Wednesday, March 6 that federal government offices in the Washington, DC area would be closed due to weather. As a result, the usual lockup procedures for the release of economic data will be suspended. The only economic report of note set for release by the federal government on Wednesday is the data for factory orders in January. It will be published on the Census Bureau website at 10:00 ET as scheduled. The Federal Reserve’s Beige Book is scheduled for release at 14:00 ET on Wednesday, and we anticipate it will be available on that website at the announced time.”

Remember – never let a one day weather crisis go to waste, because it now means that we have a perfectly valid reason for the BLS and DOL to “estimate” better than expected claims and non-farm payrolls for March over the next 4 weeks.

Because otherwise the government may be forced to show what the real economic data underpinning the record DJIA is…. and that would be very bad.

Venezuela’s Hugo Chávez and his Legacy of Plunder

March 6, 2013

Now the truth comes out ……. How is the latest great paradise lost?

How Hugo Chavez, the commie demagogue, destroyed Venezuela, blue print for Obama’s America, our very own dictator in chief.

Hugo Chávez’s folksy charm and forceful personality made him an extraordinary politician. His enviable ability to win a mass following allowed him to build a powerful political machine that kept him in office from February of 1999 until his death on Tuesday. But as a national leader, he was an abject failure who plunged Venezuela into a political and economic abyss.

Another commie dies, and only other commies care. Venezuela is now a wrecked, once free country. Word to the wise.

President Hugo Chavez, the fiery populist who declared a socialist revolution in Venezuela, crusaded against U.S. influence and championed a leftist revival across Latin America, died Tuesday at age 58 after a nearly two-year bout with cancer.

Vice President Nicolas Maduro, surrounded by other government officials, announced the death in a national television broadcast. He said Chavez died at 4:25 p.m. local time.

During more than 14 years in office, Chavez polarized Venezuelans with his confrontational and domineering style, yet was also a masterful communicator and strategist who tapped into Venezuelan nationalism to win broad support, particularly among the poor.

As an army paratroop commander, he led a failed coup in 1992, then was pardoned and elected president in 1998. He survived a coup against his own presidency in 2002 and won re-election two more times.

Despite his controversial and questionable politics, Chavez electrified crowds with his booming voice, often wearing the bright red of his United Socialist Party of Venezuela or the fatigues and red beret of his army days. Before his struggle with cancer, he appeared on television almost daily, talking for hours at a time and often breaking into song of philosophical discourse.

The poor who voted for him, went from living decently to a life of utter squalor. Chavez stole all the oil money he could stash while the poor waited for hours for a ration of milk. Learn the lesson well.

CHAVEZ ON THE BRINK: Venezuela Blames Cancer On Foreign Plot, Expels US Attaché

March 5, 2013

Venezuelan state TV just gave what was billed as an update on President Hugo Chavez’s health.

In the address, Vice President Nicolás Maduro assured the country that Chavez was still alive, but was facing serious complications in his battle against cancer.

However, much of the statement focused on a U.S.-led conspiracy against the country.

Maduro says that the government had discovered that an officer of the U.S. Embassy was acting against Venezuela’s military, getting in touch with officers and proposing a plan to destabilize the country.

The man is reportedly an Air Force attaché named “David del Monaco,” and he has been given 24 hours to get out of the country. Maduro says that “special measures” will be taken to avoid right wing conspiracies.

It’s worth noting that the Venezuelan government accused the U.S. of a similar plot in 2008, and expelled then-Ambassador Patrick Duddy. The vice president has also previously told the press that he has been the subject of an assassination plot.

Maduro also used the address to say Chavez’s enemies had hurt his health with lies and rumors, comparing it to the death of Yasser Arafat, the Palestinian leader who some believe was poisoned.

Maduro says that a “scientific commission” will eventually find proof that Chavez’s illness was caused by poison.

According to CNN, Information Minister Ernesto Villegas announced Chavez was battling a new infection on Monday.

“There is a worsening of the respiratory function, related to the state of his depressed immune system,” Villegas said on state-run VTV.
