1970 Earth Day Predictions

April 22, 2013

It’s Earth Day, Time for a review of the predictions made in 1970 about all the  horrors man was causing to be visited on Mother Earth.

And they are real beauties. In no particular order we begin … This morning in USA TODAY, Lomborg argues that in virtually every developed country the air is more breathable and the water is more drinkable than it was in 1970. Deforestation has turned to reforestation and ever-more people have access to clean water and sanitation.

  • “We have about five more years at the outside to do something.” • Kenneth Watt, ecologist
  • “Civilization will end within 15 or 30 years unless immediate action is taken against problems facing mankind.” • George Wald, Harvard Biologist
  • “Population will inevitably and completely outstrip whatever small increases in food supplies we make. The death rate will increase until at least 100-200 million people per year will be starving to death during the next ten years.” • Paul Ehrlich, Stanford University biologist
  • “By…[1975] some experts feel that food shortages will have escalated the present level of world hunger and starvation into famines of unbelievable proportions. Other experts, more optimistic, think the ultimate food-population collision will not occur until the decade of the 1980s.” • Paul Ehrlich, Stanford University biologist
  • “It is already too late to avoid mass starvation.” • Denis Hayes, chief organizer for Earth Day
  • “Demographers agree almost unanimously on the following grim timetable: by 1975 widespread famines will begin in India; these will spread by 1990 to include all of India, Pakistan, China and the Near East, Africa. By the year 2000, or conceivably sooner, South and Central America will exist under famine conditions….By the year 2000, thirty years from now, the entire world, with the exception of Western Europe, North America, and Australia, will be in famine.” • Peter Gunter, professor, North Texas State University
  • “Scientists have solid experimental and theoretical evidence to support…the following predictions: In a decade, urban dwellers will have to wear gas masks to survive air pollution…by 1985 air pollution will have reduced the amount of sunlight reaching earth by one half….” • Life Magazine, January 1970
  • “At the present rate of nitrogen buildup, it’s only a matter of time before light will be filtered out of the atmosphere and none of our land will be usable.” • Kenneth Watt, Ecologist
  • “Air pollution…is certainly going to take hundreds of thousands of lives in the next few years alone.” • Paul Ehrlich, Stanford University biologist
  • “By the year 2000, if present trends continue, we will be using up crude oil at such a rate…that there won’t be any more crude oil. You’ll drive up to the pump and say, `Fill ‘er up, buddy,’ and he’ll say, `I am very sorry, there isn’t any.’” • Kenneth Watt, Ecologist
  • “Dr. S. Dillon Ripley, secretary of the Smithsonian Institute, believes that in 25 years, somewhere between 75 and 80 percent of all the species of living animals will be extinct.” • Sen. Gaylord Nelson
  • “The world has been chilling sharply for about twenty years. If present trends continue, the world will be about four degrees colder for the global mean temperature in 1990, but eleven degrees colder in the year 2000. This is about twice what it would take to put us into an ice age.” • Kenneth Watt, Ecologist

And note that all these individuals are held high by our modern lamestream, and their fellow travelers. Does anybody care that nothing predicted came true?

I wonder what degree you need to become a whacko-oligist?

Obama will officially launch his 2012 re-election campaign, and no I’m not kidding, on  Karl Marx’s birthday, May 5th!  First, we learn that Earth Day was started on the birthday of Vladimir Lenin, the Communist butcher and founder of the USSR, now we learn that Barack Obama, America’s first Marxist president, is launching his campaign on the father of communism’s birthday?  Come on, now. How fitting!

Coincidence?  Stupid oversight?  Or, an intentional middle-finger in the face of the American people?

I am going to go with intentional middle finger to white people.

You didn’t know, next time you do. Joe the Plumber figured it out, you ignored him.

Obama Admin Seeks $469M To Prevent Overseas ‘Global Warming’ Disasters — Including Terrorism

April 24, 2012

Hey did you here the latest, the oceans are going down. Well at least he believes his own hoax. If you need to know, the US Government has devoted near $35 billion, trying to prove a hoax. Mostly grants to parrot scientists.

I think we find the green is the new reds always gets it wrong, we have a living breathing planet, not a living breathing Constitution.

After the eco-nuts favorite hoax died, they just keep going. So who we passing out money to this time, for nothing. Doesn’t he know he spent it all?

Well if you have no Case, I suppose terrorism will have to do. This is just nuts. Linking terrorism, I suppose we are talking Muslims here, to global warming. one of our Pres’s more loony notions.

In its ongoing effort to battle “global climate change” (née “global warming”) and slow the rise of the oceans, the Obama administration has latched onto a $469 million dollar initiative designed to prevent disasters caused by climate change — including terrorism — in Africa and South America

Green programs included in the new climate change scheme, which would be handled through USAID, range from “helping farmers preserve pastureland to helping women who can’t afford to move from hot and dry areas made worse by global warming,” according to the Washington Examiner’s Paul Bedard.

Several democrats, including former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, predict “ideological” House Republicans will fight the administration’s latest “global warming” — er — “global climate change” scheme.

And although U.S. taxpayers have already paid handsomely for “global climate change” prevention, it could be decades before any country sees the global warming disasters the administration says need to be prevented, one State Department official said.

“That’s because rising temperatures and varying rainfall “are things that are slowly progressing over time, on a decades-long scale,” said Kit Batten, the global climate change coordinator at USAID, at the Center for American Progress (CAP) symposium.

“You don’t have a sharp turning point,” she added.

And it was CAP that made the case (later picked up by the Obama administration) that climate change, if not properly prevented, could lead to terrorism.

How does that work?

Climate change “might change human migration in north-western Africa, likely opening up huge swaths of land to terror groups like al Qaeda. Also, ‘disenfranchised youth’ would be push into terrorism,” Bedard writes.

“The administration believes that helping farmers use a greener growing processes and reducing carbon emissions will thwart that change–and reduce terror threats–by cutting the potential for rising temperatures and odd rain patterns that ignite human migration,” he adds.

The Obama administration’s interest in this latest anti-climate change scheme is part of an overall push for a “greener” environment.

“[T]he president’s reelection campaign is talking up the environment, global warming and Sunday’s Earth Day, even using it to raise money for his campaign,” Bedard notes.

In fact, the following message, which would seem to imply the president’s opponents dig polluted water and air, was put out by his reelection campaign Monday:

President Obama knows we don’t have to sacrifice clean air and clean water to create jobs and grow our economy. But time and again, we’ve seen that our opponents are willing to play politics with the health of our natural resources—and the American people—just to protect the bottom line of their special-interest allies. If it was up to them, we’d have no EPA working to protect our kids from harmful air pollution or make sure our water is safe to drink—polluters would once again have a free pass. And I probably don’t need to remind you of their views on climate change.

And if you hurry, you can get this $20 poster with a “green” quote from the president Obama.

When is Earth day, I need to leave my lights on, to make sure. Ah aww shucks it was Saturday, damn.

Aren’t You Proud Of Your government? All Nod, The Supreme Government

April 17, 2012

It can make $4 a gallon gas, $50 light bulbs, and soon double your electric and water bill so you can just sit and marvel at all the ridiculous your government can do to make your daily life expensive to live. Sit in silence and marvel.

WOW. it’s like we turn America into the Soviet Union, so far without prisons. But they will handle that shortly, the need a p[lace to store all the global warming deniers. Until the death squads take over.

And here you thought the government would invent a new $0.50 cent light bulb, not a 50 dollar bulb. But no, here it is, the latest achievement of government light technology … Just a little expensive. But hey, you can buy 10 of them for the cost of that flat screen on your wall, progess the progressive way.

Buy, yummy light bulbs. Celebrate, did you know cavemen didn’t have light bulbs? Dance, be happy, your government has brought forth it’s latest invention. Sorry about being so broke you can’t afford one, maybe government subsidies will be along to help.

With Earth Day just around the corner, some Americans are beginning to think about small updates they can make around their home or office to be more efficient. One tip promoted on the U.S. Department of Energy’s “Energy Savers” website is to change out incandescent light bulbs with a more efficient CFL or LED lights.

Yippee, a tip from energy on how to blow money out your ass. No thanks. Hey I thought you were the drilling guys? What happened to you?

The bulb getting the most buzz is a $60 LED (light-emmiting diode) bulb by Phillips that will hit consumer shelves this Sunday. Why the hefty price tag? According to the Associated Press, this bulb packs a big punch with its ”state-of-the-art” components, especially the top-notch chips, or diodes, that give off the light.

And if you don’t like and want to buy the latest government achievement … Here is some scary stuff to change your mine. Right now it’s a push, followed by the shove, then they shoot. Yep the path of tyranny is the same. Whether it is bent on subduing America, or Red China, it works exactly the same. Now eat your veggies or the scary people with helicopters will be back. You know cows harm the planet, don’t you?

Just like the old Soviets, until everyone is reduced to compliance, that is still alive.

Just make candles like they do in Kenya. Why should you be comfortable, Kenyans aren’t.

Look at it this way, at least Romney is not a Communist.

Your government wouldn’t use force, would they? hmmm mabe you should read this …

Blackhawks Circle Low Through Chicago Skies as Secret Service Releases Security Details Look up in the sky, it’s the KGB, oops, not The KGB? I thought they were Russian.

Chicago – Blackhawks and A/MH-6 Little Bird helicopters used by special forces circling low through downtown Chicago skies made for a scary scene along the Chicago River, as they rattled windows flying among the city’s skyscrapers.

I wonder what they were doing, all those security people up in the air?

And really big jails too? Yippee a place to store the deniers. Why were the people cheering this dribble? Don’t they know who is the real enemy?

Have you ever thought, what are we doing, what is Obama doing to us?

March 29, 2010

Easy win, it’s always this way after dark in North Korea. Maybe South Korea can lodge a protest.
