Our Last Remaining Coalition Partner France Still Has To Vote

September 1, 2013

French President Francois Hollande reaffirmed to U.S. President Barack Obama on Saturday his will to punish Syria for a suspected chemicals weapons attack but was under increasing pressure to put the intervention to parliament.

Obama and Hollande spoke by telephone before Obama’s statement that he would seek authorization from Congress before any strike.

“The president reaffirmed to him his determination to act to sanction the regime,” a source close to Hollande said. “Each country’s pace of action must above all be respected. It’s important for the Americans to have the green light from Congress.”

However, pressure was now mounting on Hollande to also seek formal approval from parliament, which is due to hold a non-voting debate on Syria on September 4.

Our Congress is not set to return until Sept 9.

Barack Obama seeks to limit EU fallout over US spying claims

Barack Obama has sought to limit the damage from the growing transatlantic espionage row after Germany and France denounced the major snooping activities of US agencies and warned of a possible delay in the launch next week of ambitious free-trade talks between Europe and the US.

The German chancellor, Angela Merkel, and French president, François Hollande, demanded quick explanations from Washington about disclosures by the Guardian and Der Spiegel that US agencies bugged European embassies and offices. Berlin stressed there had to be mutual trust if trade talks were to go ahead in Washington on Monday.

Hollande went further, indicating the talks could be called off unless the alleged spying was stopped immediately and US guarantees were provided.

That’s why he knows nothing, he is busy spying on everybody.

Hollande: Bugging allegations threaten EU-US trade pact

July 1, 2013

The BBC reports …

French President Francois Hollande has said allegations that the US bugged European embassies could threaten a huge planned EU-US trade deal.

He said there could be no negotiations without guarantees that spying would stop “immediately”.

US Secretary of State John Kerry said he did not know the truth of the claims but sought to down play them.

Meanwhile, Russian and US security agencies are reportedly discussing how to deal with the man behind the leaks.

Big ears went over the line …

Taxes On Some Wealthy French Top 100 pct Of Income

May 19, 2013

How to reverse the effects of your economy in one easy lesson. We must be fair, some people have bigger brains, so …

Fairness — I assume just asking for 100% no longer qualifies for enough.

When all of it, just isn’t enough for the Communists who now run France...

More than 8,000 French households’ tax bills topped 100 percent of their income last year, the business newspaper Les Echos reported on Saturday, citing Finance Ministry data.

The world is gonna go plunk …. And then boom.

Pop: France is ‘totally bankrupt’, jobs minister admits as concerns grow over Hollande’s tax-and-spend policies

January 29, 2013

The communist lights the way forward … but Obama is so much smarter than the others. LOL!!!

  • Minister Michel Sapin said: ‘There is a state but it’s a totally bankrupt state’
  • Unemployment and living costs have spiralled since party came to power
  • President trying to revive economy through cutting spending by £51billion
  • Finance Minister Pierre Moscovici said Mr Sapin’s comments were ‘inappropriate’ and tried to blame Nicolas Sarkozy’s government
  • An online poll in Le Figaro newspaper showed that 80.5 per cent of readers agreed that France is bankrupt

Mail online writes:

France’s Socialist government was involved in a vast damage limitation exercise today after a senior minister admitted that the country was ‘totally bankrupt.’

Colleagues of Michel Sapin, secretary of state for employment, insisted that he was merely highlighting the faults of the last conservative administration, after the minister said the government’s tax-and-spend policies are just not working.

Finance minister Pierre Moscovici said: ‘What he meant was that the fiscal situation was worrying’, and added that the last government, led by Nicolas Sarkozy, had accumulated £513billion of debt.

May I suggest, communism doesn’t work, don’t you know it’s failed all over the world. So how exactly how is your communism better than Fidel Castro’s communism?

Sarkozy’s plans ‘to dodge new 75% French Tax Rate By Moving to London With Wife Carla And Setting up £1bn Private Equity Fund’

January 22, 2013

Somehow the rich always seem to get a better deal. Maybe that’s why thy are rich? Ever think of that? You cannot equalize brains, unless you kill ’em.

Mail Online writes:

Nicolas Sarkozy is preparing to move to  London to set up a billion pounds plus investment fund, it was claimed  today.

If the move goes ahead, the controversial  Frenchman will become the latest to escape a potential top tax rate of 75 per  cent in his home country.

He and his former supermodel third wife Carla  Bruni-Sarkozy would be likely to settle in an affluent district like South  Kensington – so becoming the most high profile Gallic celebrity couple in the  city.

But the former president is under  investigation for corruption in France, and if he does cross the Channel there will be outrage.

Details of the planned move were uncovered  during a raid by fraud police on Sarkozy’s Paris mansion last June.

It came within weeks of Mr Sarkozy losing his  immunity against prosecution after being defeated by Socialist rival Francois  Hollande in the May presidential election.

Now the hugely respected investigative news  site Mediapart reports that the ‘first draft’ of Mr Sarkozy’s London project was  found by detectives examining his computer files.

A judge has since made Sarkozy an assisted witness in the so-called Bettencourt Affair, in which he is accused of using  illegal cash from France’s richest woman to fund his 2007 election  campaign.

Flailing French Government Is ‘Wagging The Dog’ In Mali

January 15, 2013

When governments get in too deep, they distract.

Normally, the media would have given it priority: French President François Hollande and Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault have become more unpopular than ever before.

But the poll was shoved into the background by France’s bombing campaign in Mali—which released an avalanche of positive comments and support from all sides, at least in France.

With impeccable timing.

French Pledge More Troops for Mali as Airstrikes Continue

In a poll conducted on Friday and Saturday just before the Mali intervention, only 39% of the respondents had a positive opinion of Hollande, a new low, a plunge of 19 percentage points in seven months. A brief uptick in November had been a mirage.

By contrast, Nicolas Sarkozy, during the same period in his term (January 2008), was still riding high with an approval rating of 54%.

And poor Ayrault. He never even had an uptick. His ratings have gone straight to hell. Only the speed has varied from poll to poll.

After seven months of watching his handiwork, only 35% of the French still have a positive opinion of him—down 21 percentage points since he took office. His predecessor, François Fillon, had never sunk this low.

France-Poll-January-2012-Hollande-Ayrault-Unpopularity

“This raises the question of Jean-Marc Ayrault’s legitimacy,” explained the Institute LH2, which had conducted the poll. Even on the left, the “presidential and governmental action is not convincing….” He would soon have to be sacked.

The French Version of Atlas Shrugged: France’s “Looter And Moocher” Class

December 19, 2012

So this is for the low information voters, you know the Obama voters, we used to call them the morons. And I believe they still should. But the French just call them the looter and moocher class. Obama voters. You remember the Obama – phone err, lady? Could be why the EU is trying to centralize all banking, so it’s easy to get at other people’s money … Hmmmm.

Wanna look skinny ?

Do you consider your banks as safe??? If you want to look skinny, just surround yourself with fat friends.

Ayn Rand’s famous novel, Atlas Shrugged, tells the story of what happens when society’s most productive people go on strike because they don’t want to subsidize the looters and moochers.

I won’t give away the plot, but one interesting twist in the story is when government officials realize that they need some people to produce. Otherwise, as the former President of Brazil acknowledged in real life, there’s nothing to redistribute.

First, it was France’s richest entrepreneur.

Now, it’s the nation’s most famous actor. Gerard Depardieu has officially announced – in a letter to France’s thuggish Prime Minister – that he is tired of paying 85 percent of his income to finance the vote-buying actions of France’s kleptocratic political elite.

Instead, he is going to move to Belgium (which is hardly a tax haven, but there’s an old line about how you should surround yourself with fat people if you want to look skinny).

Here are some of the amusing details from the UK-based Telegraph.

Well, some people in France don’t understand the risks of driving away the geese that lay the golden eggs.

Here are some excerpts from a Christian Science Monitor story.

“au revoir, looters and moochers”

As French President François Hollande outlined new taxes and spending cuts while promoting reforms to turn the economy around – word leaked out that France’s wealthiest man, Bernard Arnault, was heading for Belgium in a rumored tax dodge. At first, the timing could not appear to have been worse for the national morale and Mr. Hollande. …he will hit those with direct salaries over 1 million euros ($1.3 million) with a 75 percent tax. The French have not forgotten the national shame when British Prime Minister David Cameron told the world from Mexico in early summer that London was “rolling out the red carpet” for wealthy French seeking tax havens. Yet, instead, in a national spasm of pique, France spent all day making accusations of “traitor” and “ingrate” at the rich guy – Mr. Arnault, worth $41 billion. …The anti-Arnault frenzy spurred far-left guru Jean-Luc Mélenchon to call him a “parasite,” and far-right darling Marianne Le Pen to proclaim “scandalous” what appears to be a financial exile. A screaming headline in Libération – “Get Lost You Rich Idiot”… Hollande yesterday said the fashion tycoon, who also left France for the US during the last Socialist government of François Mitterand, “should have measured what it means to apply for citizenship to another country. In this period, we need to appeal to patriotism.”

I’ve already posted about productive people escaping France, so that’s not exactly a new development.

What is remarkable, though, is the way French politicians, journalists, and ordinary citizens (presumably of the moocher variety) have viciously attacked Mr. Arnault.

Sort of like thieves who want moral sanction from their victims.

Hmmm…seems that somebody wrote a book with that theme – and it didn’t end well for the looter class. Which is exactly why I’m predicting that France will soon face a Greek-style fiscal crisis. The USA, right behind you buddy.

Obama’s Wet Dream: France Taxes Rich And Business To Slash Deficit

September 28, 2012

Run baby run FRance no longer wants you …

President Francois Hollande’s Socialist government unveiled sharp tax hikes on business and the rich on Friday in a 2013 budget aimed at showing France has the fiscal rigor to remain at the core of the euro zone.

Read the fine print:

FRENCH DISS: SOCIALIST PREZ UNVEILS NEW BUDGET THAT INCLUDES 75% TAX RATE ON WEALTHY, 45% RATE ON SOME OTHERS … to jump start the economy …Haha

The package will recoup 30 billion euros ($39 billion) for the public purse with a goal of narrowing the deficit to 3.0 percent of national output next year from 4.5 percent this year – France’s toughest single belt-tightening in 30 years.

And who is doing the belt tightening? Bet they didn’t know!!! This is not what they voted 4. more free stuff was what they wanted.

But with record unemployment and a barrage of data pointing to economic stagnation, there are fears the deficit target will slip as France falls short of the modest 0.8 percent economic growth rate on which it is banking for next year.

The budget disappointed pro-reform lobbyists by merely freezing France’s high public spending rather than daring to attack ministerial budgets as Spain did this week as it battles to avoid the conditions of an international bailout.

“This is a fighting budget to get the country back on the rails,” Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault said, adding that the 0.8 percent growth target was “realistic and ambitious”.

“It is a budget which aims to bring back confidence and to break this spiral of debt that gets bigger and bigger.”

Any bet’s it won’t work, never does…. All it will do is get people out of dodge…

What happens when you run out of other people’s money to redistribute? The third world commies never seem to come to grips with that, do they.
